A New Camp For Today's Mission Minded Youth! June 29 - July 5, 2008
"Middle School Mission Camp" is an exciting camp for youth in grades 6-8. Campers will go to the homes of the elderly and of the poor to help with yard work and repairs. To help campers understand Christ's words "when you do it to the least of these you do it unto me" there will be small group discussions on what it means to be "mission minded". Campers and Parents Give Positive Feedback About Summer Camp!
We’ve heard from so many of you about this past summer. Lack of space prevents me from sharing all the great comments. So, here are just a few:· Our daughters have camped at MSRC for 8 straight years (summer). Summer would not be summer without going there. Counselors are great. The spirit is wonderful. Activities are fun and they have learned a lot.
· [My daughter] has been attending camp at your facility since, I believe, kindergarten when she day camped. She LOVES it and will continue to go. Maybe next year we’ll do 2 camps back-to-back. She’d love to stay longer.
· Each year [my son] grows socially and spiritually during his time at Mount Shepherd. Last year he attended two weeks—the experience was so wonderful for him that he wanted to go back as much as he could. This year he’ll attend four weeks.
· She had a great time and hasn’t stopped talking about camp since she got home. I also noticed that this year she’s not only talked about the activities, but also about listening to God more. I believe Mt. Shepherd is helping her mature in her spirituality.
· The staff, counselors and volunteers [have a] happy attitude toward everything. They make the atmosphere very enjoyable.
· Thanks for everything!!!! [My son] has talked and talked all the way home about how awesome camp was and his counselor. We feel very blessed by the Lord to have had [our son] in camp this week.
· We feel it is a very positive, good quality camp.
Enclosed is the 2008 summer schedule and a registration form. A record number of campers (818!) attended camp this summer! So, register your children and/or your group early to get a spot(s).
Newsletters, emails, and letters will be sent with information about new and exciting additions for next summers’ camps. Mount Shepherds’ web site will contain news as well.
