Frequently Asked Questions About Planning Women's Retreats How far in advance should I book a retreat venue? For weekend retreats, especially during popular seasons (spring and fall), we recommend booking 6-12 months in advance. Weekday retreats typically have more availability and can sometimes be arranged with 3-4 months' notice. What is the ideal length for a women's retreat? While this depends on your group's needs and availability, we find that one-night retreats provide a minimum threshold for meaningful connection, while two-night retreats allow for deeper engagement and more balanced pacing. Day retreats can also be effective when overnight options aren't feasible. How can we accommodate women with different physical abilities? Mount Shepherd offers ADA-accessible accommodations and meeting spaces. When planning activities, we recommend offering options at different physical engagement levels, ensuring everyone can participate meaningfully. Our staff can help customize activities to meet your group's specific needs. Does Mount Shepherd provide facilitators for retreat activities? We are happy to work with you in developing a program, or we can let you run the show! For activities like high ropes courses, team building, and certain recreational activities, Mount Shepherd staff provides trained facilitation. For program content (speakers, worship, etc.), groups typically bring their own leadership. What if we have dietary restrictions in our group? We offer a variety of menu options that can be customized to fit the preferences and tastes of your participants. Plus, we're happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions or preferences with advance notice.
