Our Counselor in Training program is a three-week, hands-on experience for those that wish to be on staff at Camp Mount Shepherd. This program is for rising 10th-12th graders. CITs focus on service to camp and learning about themselves, working with others, and leading children. As a CIT, your camper will play a very important role in the operation of camp daily. Through this program they not only learn about being a counselor but the importance of hard work, of developing strengths and preparing for the future. Week one of the program will be focused on high level training on topics such as child development, behavioral management skills, faith formation and discipleship. This training will prepare them for their next two week of the program where they will be interacting with campers. One week will be spent as a counselor and the other will be in a support staff role. Since the CIT program is volunteer based, all hours worked can be signed off by Mount Shepherd for service hours.
